$ 195.00

This is a very special acorn shaped box made out of English Bog Oak (Quercus robur) with Hawaiian Koa (Acacia koa)cap. A symbol of strength and endurance, Oak serves as National Tree for many different countries, USA included, and of course, England. For those who are not familiar with the bog oak, this piece of wood is more than several thousand years old.  An oak tree fell into a bog and was buried and preserved.  The black coloration was the result of such submersion.  Needless to say, this wood is rare and expensive. The wood has a rustic look with subtle streaks and porous grain. The cap was made out of curly koa, the wood that shimmer and glow. This acorn is large for bog oak, a notoriously unstable wood that tend to crack and split.The rustic look of the wood, the subtle streaks and porous grain give this acorn an earthy quality, couple with the unique history and the symbolic meaning of the oak, this acorn is truly special.

A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
