This is a pretty slim threaded holder made out of Curly Ambrosia Maple (Acer saccharum) with Mun Ebony (Diospyros mun) cap. Official State Tree of New York,Vermont, West Virginia, and Wisconsin, Sugar maple is an important species for the maple syrup the tree produces. It is also a popular ornamental for its bright fall foliage. The wood is much denser than the other species of Maple and accept threading readily. This piece of Maple has double feature: a nice curly figure and multi-color stains from the Ambrosia markings.
