LV-2361 Carob & Ebony Stem Wooden Apple Threaded Box-SCREW CAP

LV-2361 Carob & Ebony Stem Wooden Apple Threaded Box-SCREW CAP

$ 160.00

This is a very pretty apple shaped box made out of Carob (Ceratonia siliqua) with Ebony (Diopsyros mun) stem. Carob is also know as St John's Bread, as John the Baptist was reported to subsist on the edible pod of this tree. Native to the Mediterranean and the Middle East, the Carob tree play a role in the region's culture. The "carat" unit of measurement was derived from the name Carob, as the ancient used to weight gold and gems against the weight of the Carob seed. In our time, the extract from the pod of this tree is used to make chocolate substitute. This pieces came from an old stump with beautiful multi-color pattern. Another delicious looking apple from a rare timber.
Beside being branded as THE forbidden fruit, apple has many connotations and a unique gift that teachers love to receive from their pets. An apple threaded box is a more difficult item to make since I have to match the threads and the wood grain as well, but what fun!
A nice box for your valuables, about the size of a real apple. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Great as gift for the apple of your eyes!
