This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) with Bocote (Cordia elaeagnoides) cap. Yes, this wood is hard and heavy like a piece of iron, but with the shimmering of gold and the smoothness of glass when polished. Desert Ironwood is probably the nicest looking wood, and is considered one of the only two precious timbers from North America. The American Indian believes that the wood will bring luck and good health to the people who carries it. Here is a really heavy and fairly large acorn to contain a ton of luck. Capped with a nicely patterned Bocote to boost.
