This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Purpleheart (Peltogyne paniculata) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap. True to it's name, Purpleheart is a special wood that quickly turns purple after exposure. The color will deepen with time. I like the bright purple color of this wood very much, so I often come back to make something out of it. The trouble is purpleheart do not accept threading very well, so I have to struggle with it every time. Worth it, though. Betelnut is hard and dense with the unique pattern that is very well suited as an acorn cap. I really like this combination. This acorn is large enough to stash a rolled up bill.

It is ready to dangle off your keychain, bag zipper, belt with the removable lobster claw. The nut is small enough to be worn as a pendant (without the claw). Good for small daily pills, keepsake...Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is (unless you wrap your pill). Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
