This is a whimsical mushroom shaped box made out of American Holly (Illex opaca) with Cedar (Cedrus sp.) cap. Another delicious mushroom from a branch of a true Cedar. I am not sure what the exact species of cedar this is, since it was sent to me by one of my customers. The wood is hard and accept threading with ease. The grow ring pattern makes an interesting mushroom cap. Perk proudly on a white stalk from American Holly, the shrub with red berries for Holiday decoration. The wood of this timber is the whitest commercial wood, perfect for mushrooms.
