This is a nice acorn shaped box made out of Mersawa Burl (Anisoptera costata) with Black Palm (Borassus flabellifer) cap. Both timbers from this nut came from SE Asia. The Marsawa burl is a new thing for me. I have never came across it until recently. Apparently a rare thing. It is a light, but fine grain burl. The Black Palm cap adds contrast and visual interest to this acorn.
