This is a unusual acorn shaped box made out of Bristlecone Pine (Pinus aristata) with Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) cap. Bristlecone is the oldest living organism known, with the life span up to 5,000 years. The sight of this majestic weathered, twisted pine is truly awe inspiring. The wood is dense for a pine due to it's extremely slow growth rate and is very resinous. Desert Ironwood is another denizen of harsh environment. A slow growing tree with shimmering wood.
