This is a nice acorn shaped box made out of Browm Mallee Burl (Eucalyptus socialis) with Black Walnut (Juglans negra) cap.  An Eucalyptus species from Australia, Brown Mallee is rapidly becoming my favorite burl.  Is is heavy, stable, densely patterned but with minimal checks and voids.  Turn and thread well. The golden brown color is also unique. This densely figured burl is a visual feast!  Capped with the dark Black Walnut for contrast.
