This is a nice acorn shaped box made out of Curly Pyinma (Lagerstroemia pyinma) with Browm Mallee Burl (Eucalyptus socialis).  Pyinma is also known as Asian Satinwood. It is in the same family as the ornamental Crape Myrtle.  I am not sure how crooked these trees grow, but all Pyinma wood I have seen so far are of the curly figure type, more or less.  The nice sheen of this wood, couple with it's 3D effect satisfies the eyes in a special way.  Capped with the highly figured Brown Malle burl for added visual interest.
