This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Camatillo (Dalbergia congestiflora) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap.  Camatillo is a true rosewood species with a beautiful deep purple color and darker streaks.  It is one of the rarer timber since the tree never grow very big.  The incredibly fine grain wood is a joy to work with.  The Betelnut used in this acorn is a variety with smaller nut.  Betelnut has a natural void in the middle, so I can only use this rare nut for the tiny acorn like this one.  Perfect as a pendant!

A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Good for small daily pills, keepsake... Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
