This is a very special mushroom shaped box made out of American Holly (Illex opaca) with Coast Live Oak (Quercus agrifolia) cap.  It's mushroom season here now.  With all the rain we have recently, the mushrooms are surely happy.  I happen to have a few growing off my lathe.  This small mushroom complete the mushroom family.  I have daddy, mommy and baby mushrooms, all from the same wood combination.  They just look so great group together that I have to make a few at a time for the social effect.  Cute!
