This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Cocobolo (dalbergia retusa) with Mora (Maclura tinctorus) cap. Cocobolo is a true rosewood from South America with prominent darker streaking on the nice reddish warm tone. It is a very dense wood that polish up to a hard shine. The figure can be extremely extravagant in Cocobolo, making it a fantastic timber. It was recently added to the endangered list to control exportation, so will become harder to come by in the near future. The cap is another beautiful South American wood with nice black streaks on brown background.
