This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Aromatic Cedar (Juniperus virgiania) with Chechen (Metopium brownei) cap.  Among many of other so called cedars, this species is another cedar-wannabe.  It is actually a juniper, but the common name, or misnomer,  stuck.  The brownish-red heartwood is fragrant, very light and very rot resistance.  Moths do not like the aroma from this timber, so it is often used as lining for clothes chests and closets. Yes, this is the cedar that you are familiar with.  I combined it with Checehn, also known as Caribbean rosewood, a warm color, lustrous timber.
