This is a very special acorn shaped box made out of Asian Satinwood Burl (Lagerstroemia pyinma) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap. From SE Asia, this Satinwood species is a relative to the common Crape Myrtle. The light wood is valued for its wavy, shimmering figure. The burl is even more interesting, with additional wild grain and clusters of numerous eyes. Capped off with Betelnut for added effect. This is a very small acorn box without the hardware attachment, shaped like the English brown oak acorn.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
