This is a special slim threaded holder made out of Mountain Mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius) with Partridgewood (Andira inermis) cap. Mountain Mahogany is not related to the Mahogany of the trade, but belongs to the Rose family. It is a native here in chaparal California, a small tree with interesting seed pods, each carries a long, hairy tail. The tree is believed to live pass 1300 years, and could be the oldest known flowering plant. The wood is very heavy, super fine grain with a rosy tint and subtle color variation. It is one of my favorite wood to work with, right up there with the expensive Boxwood. Capped with a nice brown wood, this is one earthy acorn!
The crew-on cap makes this holder extra special and ensures that your content is secured. The slim profile fits unobtrusively in a purse or pocket for the people on the go. This holder can be used to hold toothpicks, pill, snuff, sewing needles, cash stash and small valuables...Also serves as a nice gift for someone who seems to have everything.
