This is a very pretty mushroom shaped box made out of French Boxwood (Buxus sempervirens) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap.  Boxwood is a hard and heavy wood from a slow growing, small shrub.  It is the hardest and heaviest wood from the entire European continent.  The wood is often used to make chess piece due to its extremely fine grain.  Also a favorite wood for detail carving.  The Betelnut cap adds a tone of visual interest to this tiny saprophyte with it's unique pattern.

A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Good for small daily pills, keepsake... Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is.  This one is a unique gift for nature lover and mushroom harvester.
