This is a small acorn shaped box made out of Ponderosa Pine Burl (Pinus ponderosa) w/ Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap. I love to work with this burl, just to enjoy the intense aroma of fresh cut pine. Ponderosa also has a hint of delicious vanilla smell. The burl is very hard and heavy since it is saturated with resin. I can just thread it directly. This is truly a rare find, since I have came across just a single chance to get it so far. Ponderosa is my favorite aromatic wood for its pleasant and intense scent. Betelnut is, by far, my favorite material for acorn cap. Its eye-catching pattern adds an exotic touch to the piece. Open it up and take a sniff, you'll be surprise!
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. It is ready to dangle off your keychain, bag zipper, belt with the removable lobster claw. The nut is small enough to be worn as a pendant (without the claw). Good for small daily pills, keepsake...Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. For a permanent seal, apply a small amount of wood glue to the threads before closing. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
