This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Lignum Vitae (Guiacum officinale) with Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap. Lignum vitae (Guaiacum officinale), one of the world's hardest and most famous woods. A similar species (G. sanctum) is native to the Florida Keys. Both species are members of the Caltrop Family (Zygophyllaceae) along with North and South American creosote bush and the ubiquitous puncture vine (Tribulus terrestris). The name lignum vitae means "wood of life," owing to the medicinal properties of the heavy, resinous wood
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Good for small daily pills, keepsake... Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
