This is a very cute mushroom threaded box made out of Betelnut (Areca catechu) cap with Spalted Tamarind (Tamarindus indica) stalk. Beautifully spalted, this tamarind wood is from the tree that give the sour fruits popular for cooking, making drinks and candy in the tropic. Tamarind heartwood is known for it's hardness. What's fun about this mushroom is the betel nut cap. The unique pattern looks so interesting as a mushroom cap. I believe there is an edible species of mushroom with a cap similar to this.
This threaded box can be used to hold small valuables...The screw-on cap ensured that your content is secured; also serves as a unique gift for nature lovers.
