LV-408 New Zealand Ngaio Wood Turned Lidded Vase, Hollow Form, Wood Urn--RARE BEAUTY

LV-408 New Zealand Ngaio Wood Turned Lidded Vase, Hollow Form, Wood Urn--RARE BEAUTY

$ 150.00

This is a unique vase made out of New Zealand Ngaio (Myoporum laetum) and Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) base and lid. According to the Maori legend, this is the shadowy tree you see on the the surface of the moon. This piece was fashioned out of an incredibly figured multi-crotch section. The pattern is subtle but beautiful, just like the surface of the moon. It is also silky smooth and feel great for those who like to fondle their collection (yes, fondling wood is good for your health). The cap is loose fitting and can be lifted with one hand. I love this one and have been holding on to it for a while...

This box is perfect box for small jewelries or valuables. Or it can be displayed as a unique collector's item.
