This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Leadwood (Combretum imberbe) with Verawood (Bulnesia sarmientoi) cap. Another heavy metal wood from Africa, this piece of Leadwood is probably the second toughest wood I have to turn due to it's interlocking grain and hardness (the other troublesome one is Brazilian Ebony). But it's all well worth it. The figure of Leadwood is subtle but beautiful and the thing polish up so nicely that I am willing to forgive it's recalcitrant. I capped it wih Verawood, another very hard and heavy wood but extremely well behave with a unique greenish patina.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured, good for jewelry, keepsake... Through the ages, people has given out acorns as symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
