This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) with Verawood (Bulnesia sarmientoi) cap.  African Blackwood is a true rosewood, and also true to it's name, being deep purplish black. It is a very hard and heavy wood, one of the best for threading. The grain is so fine, I feel like I was turning a piece of black plastic! Capped with the green Verawood to simulate the color of a just ripe acorn, before it fall off the tree
