This is a very pretty acorn shaped box made out of Lignum Vitae (Guiacum officinale) with Raffia Palm Nut (Raphia farinifera) cap. Lignum vitae (Guaiacum officinale), one of the world's hardest and most famous woods. It is hard enough that people used to make ball bearings for ships out of it. The name lignum vitae means "wood of life," owing to the medicinal properties of the heavy, resinous wood. It will eventually turn deep green with light exposure. I capped it with the greenish raffia palm nut. The interesting pattern of the nut adds visual complexity to this acorn.
A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Good for small daily pills, keepsake... Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
