This is a small acorn shaped box made out of Cork Oak (Quercus suber) with African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) cap.  As you can probably tell, I have a weakness for oaks and their acorns.  A symbol of strength and endurance, oak is the national tree of many Western countries, including the US.  Cork Oak is even more special for producing all those corks that you uncorked for special (or not so special) occasions.  Unlike some porous oaks, this species has very fine grain wood that accept threading nicely.  It also has an interesting curly figure.  Capped with a dark wood for contrast.  

A nice box for your valuables. The screw-on cap makes this nature inspired box extra special and ensures that your content is secured. Good for small daily pills, keepsake... Not recommended for long term storage of emergency pill, since I don't know how air/water tight the closure is. Through the ages, people has given out acorns as a symbol of prosperity and luck. This one is a unique gift.
