This is a small mushroom box made out of Bradford Pear (Pyrus calleryana) cap with Sugar Maple (Acer saccharum) stalk.  Originated from China and Vietnam, Bradford pear is a popular ornamental trees around here.  I really like this tree for the multi-color leaves in autumn and mass of white blooms in Springs that shed their petals like snowfall.  This piece of pear wood is salvaged from trimming of a street tree.
