This is a pretty slim threaded holder made out of Buckeye Burl (Aesculus californica) with Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) cap. Buckeye trees are easy to spot now with it's dendriltic silvery branches adorned by multitude of dangling fruits, like ornaments on a X-mas tree. This is one of my favorite species around here: beautiful leaves, massive flower heads, picturesque form, interesting fruit...The burly wood of this local species can not look more exotic. The tendency of this wood to develop a natural bluish stain set it apart from other timbers. The dark cap adds contrast to this wild nut.
The crew-on cap makes this holder extra special and ensures that your content is secured. The slim profile fits unobtrusively in a purse or pocket for the people on the go. This holder can be used to hold toothpicks, pill, snuff, sewing needles, cash stash and small valuables...Also serves as a nice gift for someone who seems to have everything.
