This is a small threaded container made out of Ivorywood (Calycophyllum multiflorum) mid segment, African Blackwood (Dalbergia melanoxylon) base, and Mun Ebony (Diospyros mun) Lid. "
Ivorywood is native to South America. It often marketed as an alternative to European Boxwood, with a dense grain similar to that of African Pink Ivory. In my experience, the name applies only to the light color and fine grain characteristic. This wood is not as dense as the other species by a long shot. So it was floated on the very dense and dark african blackwood, a true rosewood species, and balanced out with an ebony cap.
Dimension (largest diameter x height): 1-3/4" x 2-3/4"
