This is a large mushroom shaped container made out of Paper Birch (Betula papyrifera) cap and a Jacaranda (Jacaranda mimosifolia) stalk. 

Both timbers were salvaged woods from tree triming around my neighborhood.  The tricky part was to dry these logs so they would not split right into the center pit.  Only two sections survived and became this larger-than-life mushroom.  

This threaded mushroom can be used to hold small valuables...The screw-on cap ensured that your content is secured; also serves as a unique gift for nature lovers
